The Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham has invested in a new retail centre, which is situated in the heart of the area. As part of this development, the City Council was keen to provide a digital access point for visitors offering up-to-date news and events information, tourist trails around the area, heritage content and points of interest.
In collaboration with the team at Substrakt, who designed and built the technical interface for Golden Square digital visitor information point, we worked across the content strategy and development for the platform.
Golden Square celebrates the eclectic nature of the Jewellery Quarter, which includes over 500 jewellery businesses and 200 listed buildings. The platform provides visitors with information about the area’s rich past and vibrant present.
Our team of digital content specialists sourced, curated, wrote and published the wide range of trails and stories, to enable visitors to explore the many different aspects of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.
The result is a digital platform which provides access to the range of content – heritage, contemporary and current day news and events available either via the website, a mobile browser or the interactive touch screen.
