At first glance it is perhaps not necessarily an obvious career progression to go from ‘psychology undergraduate’ to ‘digital strategist’ stopping off as a ‘TV producer’ on the way.
My progression from TV to digital mirrored what was happening in the television industry at the time; with new technologies came new audiences, who were eager to consume content in a different way. That’s why I started Ammba in 2011 and since then we have supported organisations to develop digital platforms and digital content strategy as well as guide them through the cultural change that comes when adopting digital.
When people ask me what I do for a living, I reply ‘I make digital easy for organisations!’
My experience is quite varied working with organisations in the Cultural, Heritage, IT, Digital Media and Education sectors. I came on board with the Ammba team to help manage the growth of the business.
I’ve always been interested in technology, but more about how it can enable users. Our philosophy at Ammba of content before technology is key to our work and is also the most fun part, putting content in the hands of a digital user is what it’s all about.
When people ask me what I do for a living, I reply ‘I have fun opening up content for digital audiences’.
With over ten years’ experience in the cultural and heritage sectors, I really enjoy helping organisations make sense of their digital presence. This includes creating engaging content, building multi-channel frameworks and developing clear content strategies.
For me there’s nothing more rewarding than using digital to open up archives and collections to new audiences.
When people ask me what I do for a living I reply “turning beautiful old stuff into beautiful new digital stuff!”
Coming to work for Ammba has completed the circle for me, from being a PA in the metals and alloys industry, to a Higher Level Teaching Assistant specialising in Special Educational Needs, to a professional photographer, then a School Administrator and now back to being a PA!
I love to organise, but I’m also creative, continuing with photography when I can. As a busy crafter I love attending craft fairs to sell my creations. You’ll also find me at craft classes learning lots of new skills.
When people ask me what I do for a living, I reply ‘ I work for a great team of digital consultants, take photographs and make superhero masks. Although rarely at the same time!’
Ryan is an official ‘friend of the band’. He is an independent contractor but we have worked on so many projects together he feels like one of us. We have a great working relationship and he is our go-to guy for all UX, UI and Design.
After taking a break to become a Mum, I was ready to get back to work. Feeling determined, I needed a company where I could apply my knowledge and skills effectively and feel like a valuable member of a team. For me, Ammba was the perfect fit!
Since starting with Ammba, I have really enjoyed working with the team. Not only that but being part of the working world and getting stuck in. It’s great to already feel part of the Ammba family.
I’ve been mainly supporting the Early Excellence project but am starting to dip my toes in to other exciting areas of the business. It’s nice to have so much variation and I love being presented with new challenges on projects.
Another ‘special friend’ to Ammba Mark runs his own business but is also our business partner and Lead Developer. Mark either acts in an advisory role on strategic projects or gets stuck in on development for our production projects.
