From grapes to visitors: growing a travel website
Site visits don’t come much better than the beautiful Campania region of southern Italy. But we were lucky enough to catch up in person with one of our clients to see how their business has been developing and how their website has supported that growth. We even managed to bag a holiday out of it!
Launching a travel website
Back in 2019 we launched a travel website for the San Leonardo Agriturismo farm stay. Acting as a showcase for their restaurant, farm and chalets, the website also enables users to book holiday stays. The site came at a crucial time. Just a few months later, the Covid-19 global pandemic would temporarily close down all holiday travel.
Building demand
During that difficult time, the San Leonardo team worked hard to engage online audiences through their website. They refreshed content regularly, and created engaging narratives around ongoing maintenance of their farm and produce.
By continuing to develop interest digitally, San Leonardo found they received increased bookings once restrictions had been lifted. Critical to this increase in demand had been their creative use of the website.
As a result, the once seasonal restaurant now opens all year round. Whilst their delightful, local produce plays a large role in this, the website is also an influence.
Wedding bells
During our holiday, erm, business trip, we were also thrilled to learn that San Leonardo has received its first wedding booking. Whilst this first is undoubtedly exciting for the team, what’s really interesting is that the couple are both from the UK, and have only ever visited the site online. This really does go to show that strong content coupled with a well-designed experience, can create a compelling and engaging narrative.
We’re super excited to see what the next step will be for the San Leonardo farm stay, and how we can support them to develop their travel website. Now, where did we put those passports….
