LinkedIn workshops – from Newbie to Hero

In our role as digital architects, we support clients in many different ways. One interesting area of work for us is social media and online engagement. Whether it’s help creating schedules, content development or account management, we provide advice and guidance to enable clients to grow and prosper in the social space.

A recent example of this is a short series of LinkedIn workshops we delivered for Birmingham-based change consultancy firm Entec Si. We have supported Entec with their social media and web presence for some time. However the team wanted to learn more about how they grew their presence on LinkedIn and the benefits this would bring to them individually and organisationally.

We’re all LinkedIn

LinkedIn is easily the world’s number one professional networking platform. With over 690 million users, it’s a great place to establish connections and build relationships. In particular, businesses can use LinkedIn to attract new talent, develop networks and promote their work.

From newbie to hero

As use of LinkedIn amongst the Entec Si team was varied, we delivered two virtual workshops which catered for all experiences. As the name suggests, the Newbie session was aimed directly at covering the basics. These included:

  • Understanding your audience and what you want to achieve
  • Understanding basic elements of your profile
  • Do’s and don’ts
  • Engaging with others

For those more practiced, we delivered the Hero workshop. This focused not only on personal development, but also how LinkedIn can develop and grow the Entec Si brand. Themes covered in this session included:

  • Enhancing your profile
  • Developing your network
  • Finding groups and joining conversations
  • Publishing persona articles
  • Lead generation

Thank you Team Ammba

Both sessions were enormously successful, with high levels of engagement from the Entec Si team. Whether beginner or more experienced, the team took much from the sessions. We received some great feedback:

Having a focused event around the art of social media in the professional space was hugely beneficial. It allowed me to get practical tips for using the tools, and also gave me creative ideas for easily maintaining my profile and for maximising the exposure of the team on LinkedIn.  Jargon and myth busting!  Thanks Ammba!” – Sue Johnson Gregory, Consulting Director.

It was really thorough training into the basics of LinkedIn, just the little things which can make so much of a difference to how your account is perceived by your target audience. I’ve since made some subtle yet very effective changes which have in turn increased traffic to my profile from a much wider, but targeted audience.” – Amar Assi, Junior Consultant

“Thank you so much for the most interesting and inspiring workshop! I found it useful to have basic concepts spelled out and some of the more complex areas presented – I have already put some of these things into practice and will definitely use in the future. Does that make me a LinkedIn hero? Thank you #teamammba.” – Julie Smith, Senior Consultant
