Bringing the collections to life – Phase Two website design with the Common Room
We’re very excited to be working on Phase Two of the Common Room’s website. This includes a number of great new features, such as the ability to explore their world-famous archives. The Common Room website is an integration between WordPress and Nymbol, a bespoke CMS we have developed for the management of cultural collections.
The Common Room is based at Neville Hall, a historic site that is home to a vast collection of volumes relating to mining engineering. Based in the heart of Newcastle, the building is currently under refurbishment, and is due to open next year.
Bringing collections to life
The site launched in autumn 2019. Since then it’s been a vital tool in establishing the Common Room as a beacon for STEM in the North East. It is exciting to see the team develop content and their online offer, particularly during the lockdown period.
We’re thoroughly enjoying our ongoing collaboration with the Common Room. This work sees us further establish Nymbol within the GLAM sector. By delivering Phase Two of the project, we’re helping the Common Room to preserve its legacy for generations to come.
