Forever young: celebrating Ammba’s teenage spirit and growth

As Ammba turned 13, we reflected on our journey so far, recognising we’ve certainly experienced the growth and change you do as a teenager.

We began as a one-person consultancy working on one library’s digital transformation. We are now a six-person team, supported by a wide range of associates, working across many sectors in the UK and abroad.

We could paint a picture of meticulously planned success, making us sound like the Sheryl Sandberg or Richard Branson of the digital world. But that’s not our story and it isn’t anybody’s really (well except maybe Sheryl or Richard’s), it’s just you only tend to see the end result of success or failure.

The realities of growth: Successes, failures and everything in between

Great things happen when you are challenged and our exploration over the years has forced us to adapt and grow. We’ve had our share of successes and failures, busy times and quiet times. Our journey has included early mornings, late nights and celebratory glasses of fizz. We’ve made some bad decisions that turned out well and some good decisions that didn’t.

We’re really proud of our client list and the independence we now have. We’ve spun out tech innovations, companies and travelled the world. We’ve met some amazing people in that time, and we have the most amazing team working with us.

Staying true to our values: Honesty, transparency and kindness

As we reach our adolescent maturity, we still dream about the future. We continue to focus on what our clients want and need. We are always honest and transparent. We keep up with our professional development, and above all else we try to be kind.

Looking forward: Embracing the future with passion and resilience

It would be wonderful to lean back, put our metaphorical hands behind our metaphorical heads, and claim we’ve learned all the lessons and now know the secrets to our successes. The truth is, all we’ve really learned is that you can create success through hard work and enthusiasm, by surrounding yourselves with good people and then just trusting your luck.

If there are any other tricks to the trade, then in the true spirit of now being a teenager, all we can do is shrug our shoulders, hang our heads, and say, “Dunno.”

What we do know, is that we’re looking forward to many more years of growth, challenges and successes. Lets hope we don’t lose our youthful energy and resilience, as we continue to make our mark on the digital transformation world.
