Objectives
Opening in 2019, the Silverstone Museum will be a major new visitor attraction telling the captivating story of the world-famous racetrack. Using state-of-the-art technologies, it will make Silverstone’s unique archives available to the public for the first time.
The Silverstone Museum team required a website and content management system that would match their ambitions, help build interest ahead of opening, and then support the attraction once live. The longer-term vision included future phases such as ticketing, an online shop and in-depth access to archival content.
Solutions
We began by running a series of workshops with the Silverstone Museum team to define the site’s purpose, audience needs and key milestones. This enabled us to create a detailed site plan and break delivery into clear, manageable phases aligned with the project timeline.
We were then engaged to manage the tender process for the website and CMS. This included issuing a PQQ to relevant networks, developing the tender documentation with the team, and managing the shortlist process.
We supported Silverstone Museum through interviews, providing a clear framework and guidance on technical, content and user experience considerations. Following this process, Substrakt were appointed as the delivery partner, based on their strong track record in the heritage and visitor experience sectors.
Working alongside Substrakt and the Silverstone Museum team, we managed the build and delivery of the site, ensuring the project stayed on track and was delivered smoothly, without any unnecessary pit stops.
